Ginnie Baer |
Ginnie obtained her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Ohio State University in 1999 and her MFA from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2003. She has since returned to Columbus, making art and teaching painting, drawing and art history at The Ohio State University, Columbus State Community College and Columbus College of Art and Design. Ginnie is also a member of the Couchfire Collective and serves as a member of the Ohio Art League’s programming committee.
Her work is a hybrid of playfulness and longing. Ginnie experiments with materials and objects to see how/if re-contextualizing them changes how they are perceived. She is interested in the capabilities of paint, believing that one mark holds infinite possibilities.
